Six Haier dishwasher codes are decoded here. E1 is water intake — a closed tap, a kinked hose, a clogged inlet screen, or a failed valve solenoid. E3 is water that never heats, and E5 is the NTC sensor that measures it reading out of range, so the two are neighbours with different parts behind them. E4 is the anti-flood float tripping on water in the base tray. E8 is a spray-arm distribution fault, usually a stuck diverter valve or debris jamming an arm. Ed is a communication fault between the door control panel and the main board.

E4 is the code to treat as active rather than historical. The float has already found water outside the tub, and each additional cycle adds to it. On a Haier dishwasher the supply valve and the breaker are both worth using before the sump seal or a hose fitting is disturbed, since the cabinet mixes water with line voltage by design.
