Motor signal error

Check motor position sensor (tachometer/hall sensor) on back of motor
Measure tachometer resistance — typically 100-300 ohms
Inspect wiring between motor and inverter board for damage
If tachometer tests good, the inverter board is not reading the signal — replace board
Pro Diagnostic Tip
E52 means the board commands the motor but gets no feedback (speed) signal; if the motor still spins freely by hand and the windings test good, the tachometer coil has failed — a small, inexpensive part behind the motor rotor. This differs from E50 (a genuine motor or bearing failure): with E52 the motor is healthy but blind, so the board pulses it and gives up. On Perfect Steam direct-drive units the tach coil sits under the rotor and is cheap to swap once the rotor is off, so never replace the motor for E52 until the coil and its connector are ruled out.
