It isn't plumbed#
Unless yours is a steam-assist model, there is no water line to the oven, so water on the floor of the cavity or under the door is condensed steam, not a leak. Roasting, boiling-over dishes, and self-clean all throw off moisture that collects on the coolest surfaces — the inner door glass and the cavity corners — then drips.
Where the water comes from#
- Cooking and self-clean steam. High-moisture dishes and the self-clean cycle release a lot of vapour that condenses and runs down the door. This is normal in small amounts.
- A worn door gasket. A hardened or torn gasket lets hot, moist air escape unevenly, so more of it condenses on the door and puddles at the base — the commonest real fault.
- A steam-clean reservoir. On steam-clean models a cracked reservoir or fitting can weep water; that is a genuine internal leak to trace.
- Between the door glass. Moisture trapped between the double door panels points to a failed inner seal rather than a cavity leak.

What to check#
Wipe the cavity dry and run a normal bake with a moderate dish; a little condensation on the door is expected, a puddle is not. Inspect the gasket all the way round for hard or missing sections, and note whether water appears only during self-clean or steam functions. A gasket is a straightforward replacement; a steam-system leak needs a closer look.

Heavy holiday roasting and a pre-holiday self-clean are exactly when a tired gasket lets steam escape and puddle. Check the seal now and replace it if it has hardened, so moisture stays in the cavity where it belongs.
