Common problems for this model#

Failures on the WM4000 are unusually even — each of the five accounts for about 20% of calls:

Smart faults versus wear faults#

Two of these are software-adjacent and two are plain wear, which changes how urgent they are. If AI DD is choosing the wrong cycle, try recalibrating through the ThinQ app before condemning the main PCB — and remember the washer still runs fine on manual cycle selection, so a dropped Wi-Fi connection or a confused AI is an inconvenience, not a breakdown. The TurboWash nozzles and the door boot are the true wear items: hard water scales the nozzle ring until spray weakens, and the boot splits where it flexes at the bottom of the drum. Descaling the nozzles keeps the first at bay; wiping the boot dry slows the second.

Common questions#

What is AI DD and can it be fixed? AI Direct Drive senses fabric type and load weight to tune the wash motions; if it chooses wrong cycles, recalibrate through ThinQ or, failing that, replace the main PCB (EBR86692708). The washer still runs on manual selection.

Why has TurboWash 360 stopped spraying? Hard-water minerals have calcified the nozzle ring. Remove and soak it in white vinegar for two hours; if flow does not return, replace the nozzle assembly (AJU75152604).

Do I have to use the smart features? No — Wi-Fi and AI DD are conveniences, and the WM4000 washes normally with manual cycle selection if either drops out.
