What this Frigidaire vs KitchenAid comparison is based on#
This page counts two sets of federal incident reports and nothing else: 273 CPSC SaferProducts filings naming a component on a Frigidaire refrigerator between 2011 and 2026, and 46 doing the same for a KitchenAid refrigerator across the same years. Shares are shares of those totals. Neither is a count of units sold, and neither supports a rate.
Start with the resolution, not the gaps#
The gaps on this page look dramatic and most of them are not measurements. Forty-six reports is a small record: one filing is worth roughly two percentage points, and the entire KitchenAid column — every component the classifier could name — is 35 filings.
So before reading any row, fix the scale. A KitchenAid share of 2% is one report. A share of 7% is three. The two rows the table already marks as noise, the evaporator and the thermostat or sensor, are a single report each, and the water valve or line row is one report against Frigidaire's 11.
The compressor gap is the one that survives#
The compressor is named in 28% of the KitchenAid reports and 10% of the Frigidaire ones — 18 points, the widest separation here.
