Hotpoint Oven Error Codes — Complete Error Code Diagnosis Guide

Five Hotpoint oven codes are decoded here, and three of them belong to the electronic range control. F0 is a stuck-key fault where a pad is shorted or held down, F7 is a single function pad reading as held — a delaminating key, a worn spot in the overlay, moisture crept behind it — and F8 is a clock or timer failure on the board itself. F3 is the oven RTD sensor read as open, from a failed probe, a plug backed off at the rear, or a snapped conductor. F2 is the oven running past its temperature ceiling.

The keypanel codes are worked from cheapest to most expensive, which on this control means drying the panel and freeing a pad before an overlay is ordered and an overlay before the ERC. F3 is settled with a resistance reading at the rear plug, since a loose connector and a dead probe read the same from the front. F2 is treated as a question about the relay rather than the sensor first: if bake or broil never de-energises, a new sensor will not stop the heating.

A welded bake or broil relay is the reason F2 sits apart from everything else here. The oven can keep heating with the display cleared, and during a clean cycle the door is locked over it, so the breaker is the reliable interruption rather than the cancel pad.
