Electrolux Dishwasher i10: Water Supply Timeout
The Electrolux Fill Architecture
Electrolux dishwashers share the same i-series error platform as Frigidaire but differ in component access and layout. The water inlet valve on Electrolux models (807504901, $40-$65) mounts at the left rear of the cabinet. Access requires removing the left side panel (four Phillips screws) rather than the kick plate approach used on many Frigidaire models.
The fill detection uses the same pressure-switch principle: an air dome tube connects the tub sump to a pressure sensor. Electrolux routes this tube along the left tub wall, held by adhesive clips that can fail after repeated thermal cycling, allowing the tube to sag into a U-shape that traps water and blocks air pressure transmission.

Progressive Fill Deterioration
Before i10 appears, an Electrolux dishwasher shows subtle degradation: fill times lengthen by seconds per month, the pre-wash spray becomes noticeably weaker, and the rinse stage produces less steam (lower water volume means cooler temperatures). These signs indicate the inlet valve orifice or supply screen is gradually restricting.
Diagnostic Approach for Electrolux
Supply verification. Disconnect the supply hose at the inlet valve. Run water into a bucket: minimum one gallon in 30 seconds. Electrolux specifies 20 PSI minimum, but their European-origin design actually performs best at 30-80 PSI. Below 25 PSI, fill times approach the timeout boundary even with a new valve.
Inlet valve test. The Electrolux valve uses a single solenoid with an integrated flow meter on some models. Measure solenoid resistance: 500-1500 ohms. The flow meter (if present) has its own two-pin connector; resistance across it should be 50-200 ohms.
Pressure system check. Trace the air dome tube from the tub sump upward. Check the adhesive clips along the route. A sagging tube creates a water trap that blocks air pressure. Re-route the tube with fresh clips (available at hardware stores) to maintain a continuous upward slope to the pressure switch.
Safety First — Know the Risks
Live 120V wiring in a wet environment is one of the most dangerous DIY scenarios. Water + electricity = serious shock risk. Our techs are licensed and insured — let them handle the risk.

Electrolux Premium Component Quality
Electrolux inlet valves use a higher-grade solenoid coil with better thermal insulation than the equivalent Frigidaire part. This typically gives Electrolux valves two to three additional years of service life. However, the Electrolux valve costs $10-$15 more than the Frigidaire equivalent. When ordering, use the Electrolux part number (807504901) rather than the Frigidaire cross-reference (807131901) even though they are mechanically similar. The Electrolux part includes a pre-installed flow meter gasket that the Frigidaire part omits.
The Real Cost of DIY
Average DIY attempt: $150-400 in tools you may use once, plus the risk of further damage. Our diagnostic visit costs $0 — we find the problem and give you an honest quote.

Prevention
Electrolux recommends annual inlet screen inspection. The screen is accessible by disconnecting the supply hose from the valve and pulling the screen with needle-nose pliers. In hard water areas, run a citric acid cycle monthly (Electrolux's own recommendation in their use-and-care guide) to prevent scale in the fill system.
FAQ
Does the Electrolux flow meter affect i10 diagnosis? On models with an integrated flow meter, the board can distinguish between "valve opened but no water" and "valve opened but insufficient flow." Check the tech sheet behind the inner door panel for your model's specific i10 sub-codes.
Is the Electrolux inlet valve interchangeable with Frigidaire? Mechanically yes, but the Electrolux part includes the flow meter gasket. Using the Frigidaire part requires sourcing this gasket separately.
Why does Electrolux route the air dome tube differently? The European engineering heritage favors side-wall routing for serviceability. Frigidaire's under-tub routing is a North American manufacturing simplification.
