The light is a verdict, not a failure#

Where the heat goes#

That is the cause the manufacturer names, and it is worth taking literally. Opening the door to drop in one more mug is not a neutral act on a sanitising cycle — it vents the compartment at exactly the moment the machine is trying to hold a temperature.
What to check, in order#
- Check the water temperature by running the hot water for about 30 seconds before you start the next cycle — the dishwasher heats what it is given, and it is starting from whatever arrives at the inlet.
- Run a Sanitize Cycle with the door closed the entire time, and do not add items part way through.
- If the LED still flashes on a closed, uninterrupted run, reset the control: unplug the unit for 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
- On a hard-wired dishwasher, turn the breaker that powers it off at the home electrical panel for 30 seconds, then turn the breaker back on.

Is it worth fixing?#
The flashing LED itself costs you nothing to clear if the cause is the door, and that is the ordinary case — change the habit, and the light stops. A repair conversation only starts when the LED keeps flashing on cycles run closed from beginning to end, with hot water confirmed at the tap and a power reset already tried.
At that point the control panel is the component that owns this indicator and the temperature decision behind it, so that is what gets tested. The dishwasher is otherwise washing normally, which is exactly why this is a diagnosis rather than a replacement conversation.
