The electronic ignition module can fail to produce a spark while the gas valve opens normally, allowing gas to flow from the burner without igniting. Gas accumulation in the kitchen can create fire and explosion risk. Viking received 21 reports of ignition failure.

Free in-home replacement of the ignition module with an updated design that includes a gas-valve interlock — the valve will not open unless the igniter is confirmed functional. Viking dispatches certified technicians. Repair takes 30-45 minutes.
