Three components appear in them: the igniter in 14%, eighteen reports, the control board in 13%, sixteen reports, and the heating element in 4%, which is five. Most of the reports in this corpus name none of those three parts, which is ordinary for an oven, where a large share of what people file describes burns and cooking incidents rather than a component. What an owner can act on#

The igniter is a gas-side part and it is judged by timing rather than by appearance. A glow bar that lights and stays lit while the burner never catches, or a bake cycle that takes much longer than it used to before any heat arrives, means gas is being released without a flame established. Stop using the oven, ventilate the room, and have it looked at instead of trying again — and if you smell gas at any point, leave the house and call from outside.

The control board announces itself through behaviour. A display lighting segments nobody selected, an oven that will not switch off or shuts itself down mid-bake, a touch panel answering some presses and ignoring others, or a smell of hot insulation rather than food all belong to one signal, and the response to any of them is to cut power at the breaker before investigating further. On a wall oven that breaker may be shared with nothing else, which makes it a clean isolation.

The heating element is the one you can see: with the oven cold, look at the bake and broil elements for a bright blistered spot, a section that has swollen or split, or an arc mark on the liner behind it. An element that glows unevenly or throws sparks in use should not be run again.

One recall notice is listed above, from 2015, concerning a burn risk on wall ovens. A recall list is a set of documents, not a rate, and it says nothing about the share of any population affected. Only the model number settles whether it reaches your unit; the plate is usually on the door frame, visible with the door open.
