The same two rows dominate both records#
The compressor and the ice maker are the top two components in both columns, and together they hold most of each record: 37 of Maytag's 76 filings and 90 of Whirlpool's 170.
Their order differs. Maytag's compressor takes 25% and its ice maker 24%, nineteen filings against eighteen — a single report apart, which means the ordering between them carries no information. Whirlpool's ice maker takes 34% and its compressor 19%, 58 filings against 32, a gap wide enough to be a real ranking.
