LG Washer PF: Power Lost During a Wash Cycle
PF means the washer lost and regained electrical power while a cycle was active. This is not a component failure — it reports that something interrupted the electricity. A single PF after a storm or breaker trip is normal and requires only pressing Start to resume.
Clearing PF
Press Start/Pause. The washer resumes the interrupted cycle from approximately where it left off. The board stores cycle progress in non-volatile memory. If the power interruption occurred during fill, the washer verifies water level and continues. If during wash or rinse, it resumes the current phase. If during spin, it may restart the spin phase from the beginning for balance verification.

When PF Repeats Without Power Events
Recurring PF without storms or known outages points to:
Shared circuit (40%): Washers should have a dedicated 20A circuit. If shared with other kitchen or laundry appliances, concurrent loads can trip the breaker momentarily. The fix is running a dedicated circuit (electrician job, $200-400).
Loose plug or outlet contacts (30%): The washer's plug in a worn outlet creates a high-resistance connection that drops voltage during motor startup, causing the board's power supply to brown out. Push the plug in firmly — if it feels loose, replace the outlet.
Cord or board power supply (20%): Damaged power cord or degraded capacitors in the board's power supply section.
Grid micro-outages (10%): Aging neighborhood electrical infrastructure causes undetectable interruptions.
PF With Water in the Tub
If PF appeared and the tub is full of water, press Start to resume — the washer will drain and spin as part of completing the interrupted cycle. If PF prevents resuming, use the emergency drain: remove the lower kick panel, pull the small drain hose, and drain into a shallow pan.

PF Is Not a Washer Problem
PF reports an external event, not a washer fault. Do not let anyone sell you a motor, pump, or valve because of PF. The washer's internal components are not involved. Fix the power supply path (outlet, circuit, cord) and PF stops.
LG washer keeps showing PF? We check the circuit, outlet, and board power supply — no parts replaced unless truly needed. Book electrical diagnosis.
