Seven KitchenAid washer codes are decoded here, and one of them belongs to a part most code lists ignore: F8E2 is the detergent dispenser, jammed by hardened detergent, a failed actuator, or a wiring fault. F8E1 is the water supply — closed valves, clogged inlet screens, low pressure. F9E1 is a long drain. F7E1 is motor speed sensing at the rotor position sensor. F5E2 is the door lock, F6E2 is a communication fault between the user interface and the main board, and F0E2 is excess suds.

The drive side is the boundary. A rotor position sensor sits on a motor assembly that switches line voltage through a control board, and that panel is not the place for a guess. Water and electricity share the cabinet, so the supply comes off before any connector below the tub is opened.
