What this Bosch vs LG comparison is based on#
This page counts federal incident reports and nothing else: 78 CPSC SaferProducts filings naming a component on a Bosch oven between 2011 and 2026, and 719 doing the same for an LG oven over the same years. Every share below is a share of one of those two totals. Neither total is a count of ovens sold, so neither column can be turned into a rate of anything.
Four rows, one direction#
Unusually for this set, the two records do not trade wins. On all four components the two corpora share, the Bosch share is the higher one: the control board at 9% against 5%, the heating element at 4% against 2%, the igniter at 3% against 1%, and the wiring or power cord at 3% against 2%.
A clean sweep looks like a finding, and it is worth being explicit about why it mostly is not one. Bosch's four rows are seven, three, two and two filings. Three of the four gaps disappear if two or three of those reports had been categorised differently, or never filed. The one that survives that test is the control board, where 4 points separates seven Bosch filings from LG's 36.
LG's column is flat#
