How to fix F8 E1 yourself#
- Press the power button. The washer starts a drain routine that takes roughly 8 to 10 minutes, with the pump running continuously — let it finish before you judge anything.
- Check that the hot and cold water valves are both fully open. Both inlet hoses must be connected for the washer to operate correctly.
- Check the hoses for kinks. A kink behind the machine restricts flow enough on its own to bring the code back.
- Confirm the hot (red) hose is on the hot (red) valve and the cold (blue) hose is on the cold (blue) valve.
- Shut the water off and check the inlet screens where the hoses meet the washer.
- Measure the drain. The top of it should sit at least 39 inches (99 cm) above the floor.
When to call a technician#
Call when the hoses are right, the screens are clean, the valves are open, the standpipe is at height, and F8 E1 comes back anyway. At that point the supply side has been eliminated and the fault is inside the machine — the water valve that lets the fill in, or the sensing that measures it.
