Cleaning the coin trap and inlet screens#

For the drain filter: put down towels and a pan, open the lower access panel, and slowly unthread the trap to release the water. Pull it, clear the debris, rinse it, and reseat it. Run a rinse cycle to confirm the drain is restored.

For slow filling, shut off the water, unscrew the fill hoses at the back, and clean the small mesh inlet screens with a brush. Replace a screen only if it is torn. Neither job needs more than basic hand tools.

Repair or replace the washer?#

Keep the washer. A clogged coin trap or inlet screen is a maintenance fix, not a reason to replace anything major — and even a damaged filter cap is a cheap part. Replacement of the machine only makes sense if it is aging and the pump or other components are failing at the same time.
