Why Frigidaire dishes come out dirty#
Frigidaire Gallery models use the OrbitClean system: a secondary satellite spray arm rides on the main arm and spins to double the coverage. It cleans well, but it also adds a lot of small nozzles that mineral scale can plug, and the whole benefit is lost the moment those nozzles clog. Add a fine-mesh filter that traps food and a wash that depends on genuinely hot water, and most "not cleaning" complaints trace back to one of those three restrictions rather than a failed motor.

Working through the causes#
OrbitClean nozzles clogged (most common). The satellite arm's small nozzles plug with food and hard-water scale, and even a few blocked jets leave a whole section under-washed. Remove the upper rack, unclip the main arm from its hub, and unscrew the satellite arm from the main arm. Clear every nozzle on both arms with a toothpick under running water, holding the satellite arm up to the light to confirm the tiny holes are open.
Fine-mesh filter clogged (common). Frigidaire's filter traps food so it is not sprayed back onto the dishes — until it loads up, at which point it recirculates the grit. Twist out the filter, rinse it under running water until the mesh is clear, and check that no grease film remains before reseating it.
Low incoming water temperature (common). A dishwasher relies on hot water to dissolve grease, and Frigidaire cycles work best when the wash reaches roughly 120°F. If your water heater is set low or the run to the kitchen is long, run the sink tap hot for a moment before starting so the dishwasher fills with genuinely hot water.
Spray arm won't rotate (occasional). A spray arm blocked by a tall item, or stiff on its hub, sprays only where it happens to point and leaves the rest dirty. Spin both arms by hand to confirm they turn freely, and load tall items so they cannot catch the arms mid-rotation.
Fouled soil chopper (occasional). The chopper breaks down food so it can drain rather than redepositing on dishes. When it fouls, larger debris survives the wash and lands back on the load. Clean the chopper and filter area so soil clears the tub instead of recirculating.
