Seven Hotpoint washer codes are covered, and three of them come back to the same pressure system. E1 is a water level pressure switch error, E4 is an overfill where the level went past maximum, and both can start at a disconnected pressure hose or a clogged air trap rather than at the switch. E2 is a drain timeout, E3 is a spin speed never reached, and UE is a spin balance the machine could not achieve. dE is a door the control cannot confirm is latched, and tE is wash-water temperature out of range.
The guides separate what the machine measures from what the machine is complaining about, and this set needs it. E3 and UE arrive together on a heaped load, and neither is a part until the cabinet is proved level and the suspension proved sound. tE has a check that costs nothing: a hot tap shut off means only cold reaches the valve, which reads as a sensor complaint. dE looks first at a sagging hinge letting the door sit proud, then at the latch switch, then at the lock motor gear.
E4 is the code that should send someone to the taps rather than to the display. A valve stuck open keeps filling after the code is cleared, and a machine that overfills while unattended puts water on the floor rather than in the drum. The pump, valve and control are behind panels at line voltage; the filter, the hose run and the levelling feet are not. Nothing here is gas or sealed-system work.
