Most Likely Cause#
A Beko dishwasher that leaves dishes dirty is nearly always failing to move clean, hot water over them — not "broken" in any dramatic way. The most common cause is clogged spray arms whose jets are blocked by food debris or hard-water scale, so the water never reaches the dishes with force. Water that is too cold, a weak circulation pump, the wrong or too little detergent, and a dirty filter starving the pump make up the rest. Most of these are cleaning and loading issues you can fix without a single part.
Start by looking at the spray arms and the filter, because those two account for the majority of poor-cleaning complaints and cost nothing to address. Then work outward to water temperature and detergent.
Look at the Spray Arms and Filter First#
- Spray arms: pull each arm and check that every jet hole is clear. Food particles and mineral scale plug the small nozzles, and a partly-blocked arm cleans unevenly or barely spins. Rinse them out and poke clogged holes clear.
- Filter: the cylindrical filter in the tub floor traps food so it does not recirculate. When it clogs, water flow to the pump drops and cleaning suffers. Remove it, rinse it under the tap, and make this a routine cleaning.

Spray Arms#
Because they are how the water actually reaches your dishes, the spray arms are the first thing to inspect. Each arm has a row of angled jets, and when food or scale blocks them the spray pattern collapses and whole sections of the rack come out dirty. Take the arms off, rinse them, and clear each hole with a toothpick or fine wire, then spin them by hand to confirm they turn freely. Overloading the racks so dishes block the arms produces the same symptom, so check your loading too.
Water Temperature and Detergent#
Cool incoming water is a quiet cause of poor cleaning: detergent needs heat to dissolve and cut grease, and if the water arrives cold the wash is weak from the start. Running the kitchen hot tap until it is hot before you start the dishwasher gives the cycle a hot first fill. Detergent itself matters too — old detergent that has clumped, a hand-dish soap substitute, or simply too little will all leave residue. Use fresh dishwasher detergent at the recommended dose and keep the rinse-aid topped up.
