Amana Washer F0 E5: Drum Imbalance Preventing Spin
F0 E5 means the motor control detected unsafe vibration during spin-up. The rotor position sensor (RPS) measures rotational uniformity — when irregularity exceeds 15% of target RPM for 10 consecutive revolutions, the motor shuts down and F0 E5 posts.
Amana Suspension System
Amana top-load washers use 4 suspension rods with rubber damping pads hanging the tub from the cabinet frame. The simpler design compared to Maytag (which uses spring-loaded rods with more sophisticated dampeners) means Amana washers transmit more vibration and are more sensitive to load imbalance.
Amana's maximum spin speed is lower than premium brands (typically 700-800 RPM vs. 1,000-1,100 RPM), which reduces the forces generated by imbalance but also means clothes come out wetter after the final spin.

Single Heavy Item (45%)
Redistribute laundry evenly around the drum. On Amana top-loaders with an agitator, wrap heavy items in a ring around the agitator rather than dropping them in a pile.
Worn Suspension Rods (25%)
