Speed Queen Washer nd: Drain Failure — Water Remaining After Pump Operation
The nd code means Not Draining — the washer attempted to pump out the tub but water remains after the expected drain time. On Speed Queen Quantum Touch models, the control allows approximately 4 minutes for the tub to reach empty. If the pressure switch still reads water after 4 minutes of pump operation, nd appears.

Speed Queen washers use a commercial-grade drain pump rated for higher flow than consumer brands. The drain filter (coin trap) is accessible from the front panel on FF-series front-load models. Top-load TR/TC models may not have a user-accessible filter.

Quick Fix: Clean the Coin Trap (Front-Load Models)
- Open the access panel at the bottom-front of the machine
- Pull the emergency drain hose and remove the cap — drain into a pan
- Unscrew the coin trap cap counterclockwise
- Remove all debris
- Check pump impeller — spin with finger
- Reinstall cap securely
This resolves approximately 50% of nd cases.
