Lid switch / door lock. The interlock has to confirm the door is shut before spin is allowed. On a top-loader like the WTV8736XS, press the lid switch with a pen — a click and the start of a spin means it works, no click means it failed. On a front-loader, the door lock must report latched both mechanically and electrically. This is the first thing to check because it's the most common and one of the cheapest fixes.
Drive belt.
