Why HomeWhiz won't connect#
The two things that most often stop HomeWhiz from connecting a Beko appliance are the phone's band and the appliance's setup mode: the appliance pairs on 2.4 GHz, so a phone on a 5 GHz network never finds it, and HomeWhiz mode has to be started on the appliance before it broadcasts at all. Between them you have most failed setups. The table lists the rest — a combined network that steers the phone to 5 GHz, the wrong brand profile picked in the app, a mistyped network key, an outdated app, and a weak signal at the appliance. HomeWhiz covers both Beko and Blomberg, so pick the matching profile before you assume anything is broken.
Why HomeWhiz won't connect, cause by cause#
HomeWhiz pairs on the 2.4 GHz band only. Most "won't connect" reports are network-side, not a broken appliance — here is what actually blocks the link.
| Why it won't connect | What's happening | First fix |
|---|---|---|
| Phone on 5 GHz during pairing | HomeWhiz pairs the appliance over 2.4 GHz, so a phone parked on 5 GHz cannot complete the handshake | connect the phone to the 2.4 GHz network before starting HomeWhiz setup |
| HomeWhiz mode not started on the appliance | the app cannot discover the appliance until its HomeWhiz / remote-control setting is activated on the panel | turn on HomeWhiz mode from the appliance menu, then add it in the app |
| Combined network name | a single 2.4-and-5 GHz name lets the router hand the phone a 5 GHz channel mid-setup | split the bands or disable band steering just long enough to pair |
| Wrong brand profile at add time | Beko and Blomberg both use HomeWhiz, so picking the wrong brand profile stalls onboarding | select the actual appliance brand (Beko or Blomberg) in HomeWhiz when adding it |
| HomeWhiz cloud outage | an Arçelik server outage lets the appliance join Wi-Fi but leaves the account link pending | check HomeWhiz service status and retry once it clears |
| Weak signal at a built-in appliance | a built-in cabinet or a laundry-room wall drops the 2.4 GHz signal below the pairing threshold | move the router closer or add a mesh node near the appliance |
Network security: some appliance radios cannot join a WPA3-only network — set the router to WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode so HomeWhiz can pair.

Re-pair HomeWhiz step by step#
Start HomeWhiz mode on the appliance first — until it is started, the appliance is not broadcasting and the app cannot see it; the exact step varies by model but the display confirms it. Then open HomeWhiz, choose the matching brand and product profile, add the appliance, and enter your network details. Keep your phone on the 2.4 GHz network the entire time, because the appliance onboards on 2.4 GHz and a phone that slides to 5 GHz will break the handshake before it completes.
Once it is on, keep app problems and machine problems apart. If the appliance pairs, shows online, and still throws an error or misbehaves, that is a hardware or error-code fault rather than a connection issue, and the app is only relaying it. Leave HomeWhiz and work the specific code on the appliance's own diagnostic pages for the dishwasher, washer, dryer, oven or refrigerator.
HomeWhiz connection questions#
Why will HomeWhiz not connect to my Beko appliance?#
Usually the phone is on a 5 GHz network, or HomeWhiz mode was never started on the appliance. Put the phone on 2.4 GHz, start HomeWhiz mode at the appliance, and add it again in the app.
Does HomeWhiz need a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network?#
Yes. Beko appliances onboard on 2.4 GHz, so that band must be available and your phone joined to it during setup. A 5 GHz-only network, or a phone on the 5 GHz side of one name, will block pairing.
How do I turn on HomeWhiz mode on a Beko or Blomberg appliance?#
Use the appliance panel to start HomeWhiz or the connectivity setting so it broadcasts for setup; the display confirms when it is ready. Then open the HomeWhiz app and add it while your phone is on 2.4 GHz.
My Beko dishwasher is online but HomeWhiz shows an error — which is broken?#
The dishwasher. Once it is paired and reporting, an error is the appliance's own fault code and the app only displays it. Follow the dishwasher's diagnostic steps for that specific code rather than re-pairing.
Does HomeWhiz work for both Beko and Blomberg?#
Yes, HomeWhiz covers both Beko and Blomberg appliances. Choose the matching brand profile in the app when you add the appliance, since picking the wrong profile can stop it from pairing.
Why does HomeWhiz fail to find my appliance during setup?#
The usual causes are a phone on 5 GHz, HomeWhiz mode not started, or the wrong brand profile selected. Put the phone on 2.4 GHz, restart HomeWhiz mode, and confirm you picked the right brand before adding it.
